These Christmas traditions from around the globe are truly weird

When you sit down to tuck into your turkey with a silly hat on your head, spare a thought for countries in the world who have to endure even stranger traditions. In Brazil, children are locked in a room and not let out until the Christmas tree is decorated. While in Guatemala, instead of having advent calendars to count down to the big day, people banish the devil from their homes by cleaning every dusty corner. They then pile the rubbish in a heap and burn it, so their houses are free of evil spirits for the big day.
